FAQs
We want to get you on the schedule for the first fitting at least 3-4 months prior to the event. Since we want to allow that cushion for potential additional alterations, please try to contact us about 6 months out so we can get you on the schedule. Appointments fill up fast and we don't often have slots available for fittings within the first month after you contact us. If possible, contact us as soon as you have a wedding date so we can guarantee your alterations.

That is a very difficult question to answer completely. Every alteration is different and there is no definitive way we can price it without first seeing the dress and discussing what is needed. Most bridal alterations range around $650, bridesmaids and mothers of the bride/groom generally range around $200. We can add sleeves to any garment, but there is a fee starting with at least $120. If we are needing to resize the dress 2+ sizes in either direction, it start at $800 and increases based on complexity.
Payment is due at the end of the fitting. We accept all forms of payment to include Venmo, cards, checks, etc.
We tend to get the work completed within a month or so. If there is a need for it to be quicker, please contact us to see if we can accommodate and what the associated rush fee would be.
We udnerstand that you may be trying to meet certain weight goals prior to the event, or it may just happen unexpectedly! If there is any fluctuation at least 15+ pounds in either direction, please let us know ASAP so we can adjust the scehdule to finish your work as close to the event date as possible so you still have your ideal fit. If you have any medical condition that also results in weight fluctuations, just let us know so we cna accomodate to make sure you feel like the dress flatters you.
We have a very busy schedule throughout the year, but we understand things happen and you may not be able to do the alterations in our preferred timeframe. If you are needing alterations done outside of our normal preferred timeframe, please reach out to us directly to see if we can get you in. Depending on how quickly we need to work on your garment, there may be an associated "rush fee" that is determined based on timeframe and scope of work.
We appreciate the desire to meet with us as soon as possible, but try not to show up too early to the appointment. Most of the time we are still helping another customer up until a few minutes prior to the next appointment. We unfortunately don't have a waiting room so you'll need to wait outside until we are finished with the current customer.
Absolutely! If you are requesting a specific seamstress is the only one to alter your dress, there may be an additional fee associated with that request depending on the scope of the work and their current workload. While we do offer the ability to select your seamstress, Nora has also trained all her seamstresses to meet her standards and they will provide just as quality work as Nora would.
Fittings should be a fun and informative experience. Base your choices on who to bring-in on who you are comfortable with, especially for the first hour-long session. Our space is great for 1-2 people. We always recommend bringing a guest with you to the last fitting to learn how to help you with the bustle come your big day.
As a grandmother of 3, I love kids. However, our space is not set up great for young exploring children. We have a lot of sharp objects and fast machines. If you must bring children, please keep a close eye on them for their safety.
